THE IRON CITY. - In some parts of Pittsburgh the cinders and soot from the many furnaces so pervade the atmosphere that they often fall on the faces and dresses of the ladies as they walk the streets. The only remedy in such cases, is to blow off the flakes of soot, as an attempt to wipe them off would only make matters worse. Hence it is said that the ladies of the city often come to blows.
