- Editorial Policy for The London Gazette
- All of EHP's London Gazettes are converted to HTML format from photo copies provided by Tim Hughes Rare & Early Newspapers. They are converted to basic HTML by NikWrite Systems, Virginia Beach, VA. NikWrite Systems provides a proof read basic HTML file. EHP then takes the basic HTML file and publishes two versions, a plain HTML file for all browsers and a Netscape version. In the Netscape version we try to maintain the feel of the original by using tables for the two column format, gif images for the drop caps and any icon or symbols and font sizes for the advertisement section. The only editing we do is to replace the long s symbol with an s.
- I know a lot of scholars would like original image files for comparison, however the quality of a scanned photo copy is not up to our standards. If anyone has access to the originals we have online and would like to provide an image file of the original we will be glad to put it online.
